Mid-Century Archie's Lobster House Platter, of Roanoke, Virginia, Restaurant Ware
Archie’s Lobster House, formerly located at Williamson Road and Peters Creek Road in Roanoke, Virginia, was the area's first seafood restaurant. It opened in 1947, and until 1978, was operated by Archie Parrish. The building was razed in 1981. This 15" long platter is composed of sturdy Shenango restaurant ware of Newcastle, Pennsylvania.
Weight and Measurements: 3lb, 12oz., 15-3/8"Long x10.75"Wide x 1-5/8"Tall.
Condition: Very good, vintage condition. Glossy glazed finish with personalized "Archie's" signature. Complete Shenango China maker’s mark on base. No cracks, chips or repairs. As shown in photos, one manufacturing flaw (glaze pop) area on the base. Expected, very minor shelf wear on base.
