World War 1-era "Negro Folk-Songs" book, published  in 1918 by G. Schirmer-Boston. This beautiful book of folk songs is a collection of 4 books of spiritual, work and play songs. The title pages show a footnote stating, "All royalties from the sale of these books go to Hampton Institute, Virginia, for the benefit of Negro education."

Condition: The book, while showing some binding issues, is complete and shows no water or mold damage. The cover and some pages have become loose from the binding, but have clear, bold print. With a foreword and historical lessons throughout, by Natalie Curtis-Burlin.
